The Brief

We were approached to re-fresh the branding for Commercial washrooms, a family business which started over 20 years ago. Then it grew! A lot has changed in that time, and now they are a big player in the washroom industry.

The family are still involved, and they continue to keep staff and customers happy through integrity, building personal relationships and great customer service. They are growing relationships with the big brands in washrooms to offer new and exciting ranges and they are also very much involved in design and planning which needed to be integrated into the new image for the business.

We were tasked to create a new corporate image to reflect Commercial Washroom’s fresh ideas, unique products and above-and-beyond service. We also had to come up with a visual identity which could be carried across into new market sectors the company is moving into Healthcare, Hotels and Education. This specialist knowledge was also part of their proposition and needed to be integrated across the 3 new market areas to create a ‘family’ of logos under the Commercial Washrooms umbrella.

The company initially wanted separate sites for each of the new business areas but we advised against this and got our e-commerce digital marketing partner Justine Wyness to review the current site and make a proposal for the business.

We had to tackle the problem faced by having “Lan services’ under a separate site. This is the refurbishment side of the business, it should be incorporated into the one new website.

The Solution

Stage One

We created a proposal for the user experience and marketing of the new site. We also researched the DIY and B2B marketplace in visual terms and also in digital analytics. We then came up with a suite of designs to re-purpose the new e-commerce site incorporating the identified market sectors and the refurbishments side of the business.

Stage Two

The next stage was the design vision across the wire frames for the new site. To incorporate the new image we worked with the Commercial Washrooms ‘Magento’ specialist developers ‘Media Lounge’ who are the site developers. The site is still under construction so watch this space!

Stage Three

The current situation with Covid is currently on hold. The next steps are to incorporate the new brand across signage, stationery, print, proposal documents, templates for presentations and look at the interiors for the head office and the staff engagement handbooks.
