The Brief

Pivotal Homes Group provide quality housing and support services to almost 400 single vulnerable people with a variety of needs.  In alignment with their values they remain as ‘passionate, caring and creative’ in their vision to continue to provide support, care and safe housing that vulnerable people can call ‘home’.

The business approached us to design a new visual identity for their existing company previously known as ‘PAS Housing’. We worked with our colleagues the creative writers at ‘A thousand monkeys’ to come up with a new name for the business. From this we designed the visual identity and a worked on brand strategy for the company.

The Solution

A new name, brand and vision for the Housing Association was created. Identifying the audience and positioning, we understood the design had to appeal to potential staff for recruitment, commissioners, stakeholders, investors and to people who refer to the service such as the NHS and local authorities.

We had to find a creative approach to appeal to both the corporate face, yet show the human side of the company, those who dedicate their lives to helping others. To do this we made two films which we decided would be sound recordings with documentary photography. We couldn’t show any faces of the clients or the properties so we designed the film to be called ‘a place to call home’ illustrating three clients who had been through the organisation and who had been helped to become more stable. The second film was to illustrate the dedicated staff who had helped them on their journey.

We also designed the print and digital design for the company as well as signage and internal graphic communications materials.
